Frequently Asked Questions – Glovex

Cut-resistant gloves are safety gloves designed to protect hands from cuts or slashes (from sharp edges, knives, glass, metal, etc.). They are made from special materials or combinations of yarns that resist being cut through.

“Eco-latex gloves” generally refers to gloves made using natural rubber latex that are more environmentally friendly compared to non-biodegradable synthetics.

“Adamas” appears to be a brand or a technology/trade name used in cut-resistance gloves. For example, one glove with Adamas liner is rated ANSI CUT A5 - A9.

For heat and fire, the best options are Kevlar/Leather welding gloves.

Kevlar/HPPE/Adamas liner gloves with coating are the best for cut resistance.

In Glovex, Nitrile gloves (general use), and Neoprene/Butyl gloves (for strong acids/solvents) are the best for chemical purposes.
